Book Coaching
Think of this as project management. It’s probably the most fluid component of book writing. For some people, writing a book will be fast, and for others it might take a year or (much) more. We have proven systems with achievable timelines to help keep your project moving.
As part of our package, you will have all the support you need with dedicated meetings and email communication.
A monthly breakdown of the cost begins at around $1200/month for 4 months minimum.
Editing
Our Foundation package includes every step of the editing process.
Developmental Editing. This process is a deep dive into your book where the editor is looking at structure, pacing, thematic elements, character development (if applicable), introduction, and the conclusion of your manuscript. You will receive in-line comments, an analysis of your work, a plan with suggested steps for moving forward, and support while you work.
The cost for a developmental edit with two rounds of reading is around $4,000 for a 75,000 word-manuscript.
Line Editing. This process involves the sentence-level improvement of your book. A line editor looks for errors but also for things like repeated words, inconsistencies in timeline or character description, ease of reading, and more.
The cost for a line edit is roughly $2,000 for a 75,000-word manuscript.
Proofreading. Proofreading is the process of polishing your manuscript to remove typos, lingering grammatical errors, or inconsistencies in formatting. This process is the very last thing to happen before your manuscript is sent to publication.
The cost for a proofread is roughly $1,000 for a 75,000-word manuscript.
Book Production For Indie Publishing
- Interior Design – Font choice, layout of text, creations of headers/footers, and design of chapter headings.
- Front & Back Cover Design – Full design of book cover for ebook, print book, and audio book with additional social media images in some packages.
The average price for this element of our services begins at $1,000 with a higher price for more elaborate design.
Submissions Package For Traditional Publishing
Whether you are querying agents or small presses directly there is quite a lot of material that you will need to have in addition to your manuscript.
- for nonfiction and memoir, a full proposal which is a 30-50 page marketing document
- for fiction, a one page author bio, a marketing overview, and a synopsis
